the dccd part can take substantially more, the actual box won't though as said.

I ran 410bhp/400lbsft torque on a ver 6 type r box i ran a 11.9 at santapod and it had plenty of drag abuse and held up to it fine but I think if it had any more torque it probably would have let go

The V6 boxes are 'rumoured' to be stronger than the earlier ones, think Martyn from Enginetuner has been running in excess of 500+ in his with good knows how many drag launches in it, it did let go eventually though.

i thought the boxes were the same in the v5&v6 apart from the limted's which had the option of a longer 5th gear???

The v.5/6 (or is it only the v.6?) 'box casing is stronger, being an 8-bolt TY754 rather than the earlier 4-bolt TY752...

(I think).
