Who to fit a clutch in Essex area?
Hi all
I'm looking for someone in (or very close to) Essex to fit a new clutch in my MY 99 Turbo Classic. I'd prefer someone experienced with Subarus who takes care in the work they do (eg replacing bolts/clips if broken rather than bodging it, that kind of thing).
Car is standard power so probably looking to replace with an OEM organic clutch package. Will expect whoever does the job to skim the flywheel as part of the procedure.
Any recommendations? As close to Chelmsford as possible.
Thanks

Thanks. I'll give them both a call.
Not sure how many hours it is to change a clutch (seen quotes of ~ 3 hours) but extreme show a price of £327 just for the labour which seems a lot.

Drive c.150miles to API in Harbary, Warks.
They fit clutches in very quick time. Any money you spend on petrol for the round trip (<300mls @ c.50-60 litres @ c.£60-75) will prob be outweighed by the reduced labour costs. Probably.

I just had my 2002 WRX clutch replaced by Chelmer Rover in Springfield. I've no affiliation to them other than being a customer.
I bought the clutch (£200 from ZenPerformance on here for a full Exedy kit that was nice quality) and they fitted it for £250. I thought that was pretty fair and they did a good job.
Steve (the mechanic) knows Subarus through owning them and prepping them and is a good guy. Give him a call and have a chat. 01245 465601.
Don't be put off if you speak to Chris. He doesn't work on the cars.
I've had work done by XtremeScoobies in Boreham and wasn't that impressed TBH. Just my personal experience mind.
