Default Cut out when cornering hard

Hi All,

I have had a 2004 blob eye STI and currently have a 2007 Hawkeye STI. Was driving quite hard the other day when I but her into a corner i had a complete cut out albeit for about a second, almost like traction control was saying "behave you Pen*s we ain't going to make this one"

This has happened once before on my 2004 in very similar circumstances.. I have ruled out the C.Diff meddling in, as it was on auto, because the 04 didn't have it. The only thing I can think of is fuel surge. Anyone else had this issue? if so any ideas as to its cause and potential solution?

Cheers

Ben

yeh mate happened to me too, i was told it was fuel starvation as there was not enough fuel in the tank and it went to the other side. try necking the car with fuel and then go around the bend

Can you recall how much fuel was in the tank at the time? When you are at <1/4 tank, then this can defo happen when cornering hard.

For future, regard 1/4 tank as actually "Empty" - i.e. fill up then

Best way around that issue is a swirl pot fed by the pump in your main tank, then you have an external pump drawing fuel from the swirl pot feeding the injectors. No more fuel starvation.

Don't do let that happen anymore - if you can help it.

Transient fuel starvation can be the demise of your engine, if really "on it" at the time!
