MY93-96 JDM WRX and STi saloons should be fitted with the TD05H 16g as OEM.
MY93-96 JDM WRX wagon will have the smaller TD04L unit. The contemporary STi wagon has the TD05H, a la the saloons.
FTR, the MY93-96 UKDM saloon, or wagon, has the TD05H.
You should be able to see a flattened panel with embossed lettering cast into the turbo's compressor housing. It should say either "TD05H" or "TD04L" at the very bottom of said lettering.

Well if you're sure it a TD04 and it's defo a 1993 JDM import - then you must have a WRX Wagon .
Seriously, if it is a saloon, then it must have had the turbo changed to a TD04 (by accident or by design), by a previous custodian of your car... Unless Subaru built it on a Friday!
