turbo upgrade
i have a td05 16g
came with it anyways, what i want to find out
being an early classic, how can i upgrade this.
i'm building an engine with an sti v7 bottom end, and sti v4 heads,
bigger injectors, fuelab ect, the turbo will be the only thing letting the car down.
needs to have the 90' on the front of the turbo
any advice will be great

Trust me when I say that the turbo isnt letting you down, the rest of the car is
Your brakes, suspension, ecu, gearbox, clutch etc, wont take much more power/torque that the td05 16g will give, you will need an aftermarket ecu for sure, the clutch and gearbox will be shafted in a very short time so either a ppg build (5k, not worth it), a 6 speed (cheaper at 2.5k) or just keep replacing gearboxes at 600 quid a shot
What other mods do you have on the car anyway?

i fitted sti v6 suspention, full p1 running gear
the ecu has an esl live map fitted
stage one exedy clutch, brembo fronts and 2 pot rears
front mount, uprated oil cooler. uprated oil pump ect
the list goes on mate.
i was tempted on the 6 speed to be honist, but knowing the p1 will take 400bhp and around 375ftlb
i kept it a 5 speed.
i know the td05 can get upto 350bhp, but av on 335/340ish
every thing else should take it easy
its just the 90' part on the unit, a 18g would suit better im guessing

Dont get this wrong but the P1 gearbox is on borrowed time with 375lbs of torque, just look through the drivetrain/gen tech for "my gearbox has gone bang", not even pushing it performance wise, they are ok to about 320lbs of torque, after that its luck of the gods to whether they survive or not.
Also change your ecu, its at its max where it is, you need a good after market one now to keep up with the power.

its running 1.3bar boost at the mo.
jgm says due to the 1.7bar map sencer i put on the car, will run upto that
it will run larger injector cycles & any boost cut.
i have been tempted on getting an after market ecu, but every time i plan this
seems to be a load of smilling letters waiting mate.
the old early ecu, is the best matched ecu there is.
and due to the eprom plug, it was upgradable.
esl did a great job at making the live map board
