Default STI Prodrive Bug dead

Evening all,

Had a call from my bro tonight asking for a tow home. He's got a 54 plate STI prodrive bug an whilst he was slowing to a junction she just died. Engine turns over ok but it makes no attempt to fire..and strangely none of the dash lights (CEL, battery, brake warn) are on?? No noise from fuel pump either. Car is fitted with clifford which we have attempted to reset but make no difference. Anyone have a clue what might be up with her??

cheers

dash lights not on may well be clifford brain related..

Thanks LegacySTI...Sort of thing i was thinking. Clifford manual states that it will not imobilise at engine speeds over 1.5 times idle speed...car cut out whilst coming to a junction. Do you know if its possible to cut out the clifford to prove thats what it is?

You would be best to leave to a clifford installer then cutting out a possible good loom if a faulty brain for example..

checked all wiring to fuel pump lights and relays, all appears sound but nothing has a feed to it. Local clifford guy is gona charge a packet just to get out of bed but dont see what choice we have. Does anyone know if fuel pump, exterior lighting and electric windows are on the same circuit. Might it be possible to bypass alarm imobilisor just so that we can get it started and get it to clifford man rather than paying him to come to us??

You could run a wire to the fuel pump via a switch

Could very well be Fuse No 13 - 10A in the Fuse and relay box. (Bottom row left).

Feeds, headlamp relays(lighting switch), ECU, and combination meter (dash)

does it have blackjax fitted as part of of the clifford? i had it on a car and that died and it turns out there is a plug on the black wires coming out of the brain that a fitter should cut out as they are known to burn out, mine still had it in and when i checked it there it was... a burn't out pin.
cut the plug out soldered it all together and away it went again.

she's alive!!!..found 2 points that imobi was tapped into (rather too easily infact!), re-joined wires and away she went. Just need to get clifford in to fix alarm.
