Is it an easy DIY job to fit a cat back onto exhaust for MOT

eerrmmmmm NO!
If the car is completely de-catted you will need to put the DP back on and that is a friggin ball ache for the sake of a 40minute test.
If you still have the Cat in the DP you won't need to put the center back in.

If you;ve had the cat off in the past not to hard a job,warm the engine,then 5 x 14mm bolts(4 of which you can do from the top),and axle stands to do the bottom bolt attatching to the turbo. Then its 1 bolt onto the bracket,and finally 2 x bolts on to your middle section. I am no mechanic but have fitted 3 downpipes in the last 9 days
p.s remember to unplug your lambda sensor before removal(if fitted depending on MY)
