Default 'De-Tango' Lights - What is it?

Hey fella's,

May seem a bit of a plank for asking this but I have heard the phrase 'de-tango' lights mentioned several times on here and was just wondering what it meant.

Does it mean removing the orange indicator lenses? If so, how is it done as I thought they were sealed units?

Cheers in advance!
