when changing gear the revs are slow to drop, sometimes increasing slightly before dropping. Any ideas?

i was told it could be the idle control valve needs cleaning.Took it to a local establishment.......Big Mistake, i wont name them. They had no replacement gasket so tried super glue! no good then used some sort of sealant,it sealed but i still have the problem.

From what youve said about the garage you used> id suggest buying a new gasket and cleaning the idle control valve yourself properly and then fitting backtogether with new gasket

very easy job to do

A bit of info on what type of car you have is a start..Try resetting the tps.I had a similar problem after simtek was fitted and i rescaled the tps. noticed the diffrence straight away. There should be a link on sn somewhere, if you cant find it i will write up how to do it later, or someone else might do it for you.
