where do you mount a knock sensor?

Default where do you mount a knock sensor?

Im assuming you dont remove the stock knock sensor in its stock location, so im wondering wheres best to mount the sensor for my knock link if my assumptions correct?

yes but where, there needs to be a threaded hole to bolt it on..of which there are non immediatly around the standard knock location.

Normal location is in the unused M8 boss at the upper rear of the left hand block, beneath the front of the intercooler.

If you don't have aircon you can mount it above the no. 2 piston, which is a more sensitive location, although you'll need an M10 fine to M8 adapter made up.

Transmission noise is less of an issue when fitting to the inlet manifold with something less sophisticated like the knocklink.
