Default help please.......

dont know if i have put this in the right section but am having problems with my95 impreza wrx jdm. easter sunday was driving along at 30 and the car cut out i managed to get it to the side of the road and got the car recovered home i then took it to the garage i bought it from and give the lads there their due they had the car 14 days giving me daily updates before returning the car back to me with the problem apparantly fixed (the main wire fuse under the bonnet was loose so was was changed).

when the problem occurs the car will not restart just turns over but wont start however if you leave the car for around 20 mins and go back it will restart. also when the car wont start you cant here the fuel pump prime.

currently the work done to attempt to solve this problem

main fuse changed
uprated fuel pump fitted (incase suspect fuel pump failing)
wiring under the rear seat checked

the car is relatively unmolested has a full decatted straight through exhaust chipped ecu. and have been told its got a 4+4 gearbox (whatever that is)

anyone came across this problem as am now pulling my hair out when the car works its fantastic but due to this problem i am scared of driving it as i dont want it cutting out somewhere dangerous etc...

also checked the ecu for fault codes and none are registering

as above check the fuel pump relay bit awkward to get at being behind the fuse box at ur right foot if ur sitting in the car! Also check the ground for the ecu its an earth make sure its tight it behind the inlet manifold nearest the washer bottle passenger side if ur looking at the engine with the bonnet open!

right checked the earth next to the water bottle is tight and fairly clean so fuel pump relay is the next suspect is it best just to change the relay as with it being an intermittent fault i would imagine theres no way of testing the relay??
