Default How to stop exhaust melting bumper

Just had an afterburner backbox fitted, it's very close to rear bumper and melted a bit of the paint, would a heat shield stop that, where can I get one from?

I have a carbon fibre heat shield on my own (more for aesthetics than fear of melted bumper) but due to the close proximity of your exhaust to the bumper perhaps a metal one would be better for you

They are quite easy to find, try the usual suspects;

www.scoobyworld.co.uk
www.scoobyparts.com
HT Auto's etc

Hope this helps

would a carbon fibre one stand the heat, John, do you mean heat wrapping the back box or putting a bit on the bumper?

I meant the box where it's melting the bumper, but hadn't thought of sticking a strip on the underside of the bumper which would probably do the job and look better. Other option might be to drop the exhaust hangers an inch or so.

Perhaps that exhaust wasn't designed to fit your car properly - go tell the manufacturer
Is this one of those stupid and unnecessarily large noisy back boxes
