Normal Oil Question
Hi All,
I know this always starts a big disscusion off but what grade oil is ok for a fully standard 2006 2.5 STI. I never drive it hard etc so the normal, every day oil would be good for me, what grade would you use?

Why do people say that it must be at least 10 or 15 W if it doesnt need to be?, Or is it people with money to burn lol.
Where in the manual does it say type etc, couldnt find it etc.
Many thanks!

10w40 semi synth is the standard oil, 5w40 is normally a fully synthetic as is 15w50, either one can be used but dont go for anything thicker than a 50.

the owners handbook doesn't just list a single oil though
there is a range of suitable oils according to Subaru

as long as it's not some random unknown make, go for a known brand, but you don't need to spend a fortune
