Dump Valve Sticking?
Alrite guys my dump valve is sticking half open on tick over and making the car hunt for revs and most of the time stalls, when it closes it ticks over fine. Will this problem activate the ecu light the code comes up as running rich on bank 1 also I can smell petrol. I was just wondering if it would be better to try to clean the dump valve first before ordering a lambda sensor because I think they are about £300. Any help or advice would be appreciated cheers. I have an 04 blob eye STI.

Are you talking about std dumpvalve or aftermarket type ie:baileys, forge, etc .I would check your vacume hose first for splits or cracks. If it is the std recirc valve they tend to be pretty reliable.
(Regarding your lambda sensor ,depending which one you require can be anything from £120 -£200. i bought a 2nd hand one today for £25.00 and after checking it(and asking the breaker to mark it with his initials)and resetting the ecu it is working fine.I have also bought another one off here for £15.00,and asked the seller to do the same,so may be worth looking around,i think the bosch ones on ebay are about £130.00
