Question

Hi,
Just wondered if anyone had done this themselves or knows what was involved... I have a 1994 WRX which I am considering moving the battery to the boot to make more space under the bonnet for other things. Does anyone know any websites or discussions which might provide useful tips and tricks while doing this conversion? Any help/comments appreciated.......

Cool

Not done it myself on a Scoob, but I'm considering doing it when my warranty runs out. Check out this thread on i-Club for their views.

I wouldn't have thought it would cause any problem, so long as you secure it in the boot, (maybe even in a special box so that you don't get fumes in the car!) and run decent size cables to where they go know, don't forget to give it a good earth!

Use electric welder cable, its very flexible, cheaper than automotive battery cable, non combustable insulation , comes in various thicknesses. Fasten it with 'P' Clips or clamps every 30cm, use grommets where it passes through bulkheads.
You should be able to get a battery tray (with clamp) from any decent rally spares shop.
