Default Air con light on (Bugeye 51) but no one's cold!

Hi all

All was well in the Bugeye air con world until one day the button light switched on as usual but there was no action. I cannot hear the usual noise from the fan and there seems to be no action at all.

Any ideas?

Any help with this issue would be a real help as the temp. rises and my family inc. 14 mnth baby gets warmer!

Default any other suggestions?

Thanks for the quick and concise suggestion Nick. Are there any fuses that I could also check. Is there more than one fuse?

Also as I replaced the condensor and had it re-gassed last summer, used it over Winter until one day it just seemed to have stopped, might this be a leak in a pipe? Can this be checked by Kwick Fit with their testing kit?

Alos are there any pipes that I could change if they are getting on a bit?

Mine failed after 7 & 3/4 years.... all the gas leaked out, it passed a vacuum test but leaked under pressure. It was the plastic clip on the chassis rail passenger side that wore mine away.

HTH

if the gas is low the compressor/pump does not engauge, i had a leak in mine and after replacing and testing all of it with a can of gas as it was cheaper then getting it filled everytime to find it just leaked out again, it was not till it had a certain amount of gas in the system did the pump start up (filling with engine running and aircon on)

Thanks fore the info folks. Very helpful. I read a lot about how an empty a/c system can cause all problems with seals craking etc. Bit of a nightmare this a/c lark.

Quote £60 ex VAT for a gas up and die injected to check for leaks. Then I can see where the leak is.

Wish I never bothered replacinmg the condensor and the leak may have knackered it since it stopped working in Nov.
