Default Boosting problems?

hi guys,i bought my impreza uk turbo bout 2 weeks ago and its just started to run a bit naff.when im just driving normally(slowly) it feels like the car is hunting a bit,theres a slight jerking in the power.sorry its hard to explain,but if any one has a clue wat im talkin about please help. only mods its got is a dump valve and a decat pipe.thanks

We're going to need a lot more info than that if you want anything other than very vague guesses. Model year and type of car would be a start.

Is this behaviour you're talking about something you've been experiencing since buying the car or did it develop afterwards? Do you have the original dumpvalve available to refit? Any sign of the check engine light?

sorry the car is a 1999(t-reg) 2.0l turbo uk spec. the car wasnt doing it when i bought it started about a week after i bought it.the check engine light dosent flash or anything,i havent got the original dump valve, i didnt know they were fitted from standard.i have got the original cat converter tho.

Possibly be the MAF sensor located on the pipe leading up to the air box. Could take it off and clean it, but it would be advisable to source a new one as they are a bit Naf on 99/00 cars.
