sometimes near the centre of the dics, there is a hole of a bolt to go into. use this to wind the dics off the hub.

other than that, get a mallet and towl etc and give it a good wack

will it not damage anything if the shoes etc try to come with the disc?

when i have removed my rear dics, the shoes have never been tight when the hand brake is off. once ther were stuck to the but i think, so used the mallet method above and they came off un damaged.

you can losen the hand brake cable even more if needed were the hand brake stick is inside the car.

they should not be pushing on the brake disc/drum unless there is something seased on the inside.

if your around cambridge way, i might be able to help out

try undoing the 10mm nut under the handbrake in the car!pull the rubber flap up under the actual handbrake and you will see it!
it will loosen the cables off and should give you a bit more slack!

if discs are old and rusty inside they may have a lip which is holding them on (you will see when its off lol) in this case you will have to wind adjusters back through the disc backplate! can be tricky but you can do it!!

they are sometimes tight so give it a spray with wd40 around the edge were the disc goes onto the hub after a while it will need a good whack with a big rubber mallet

de-adjust handbrake cable, then de-adjust inside disc

chances are there is a lip on the braking surface and the shoes are catching. try lever off with 2 screwdrivers gently either side of the disc, rocking back and forth the disc.

gentle hit with a mallet may help. - if your replacing the discs anyway, you can affoard to be a bit aggressive with a hammer lol

they are the springs that hold the handbrake shoes on!their will be two washer like things to which hold the springs on! they will prob need replacing now as you have bent/broken them by trying to lever the disc off!

did you manage to deadjust shoes through back plate?its a pain but you can do it and that would of save you alot of hassle! disc would of fallen off then with one hit!
