Hi,
I have a 1999 Subaru Impreza L and it has a bad knock sensor. I want to buy one and just replace it myself but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone tell me where it is and how to install the new one? Thanks a ton!

for a start its under the top mount intercooler

see where the tps sensor is or to the right of the opening to the manifold

now look down there right at the bottom attached to the block is the knock sensor, hard to see with all the wires in the way, i think its a 12mm bolt holding it to the block

took me a while to find it and i knew where to look - lol

 

Mine isn't the turbo version but i think I see it. It's hard to believe they'd put it in a different spot. Thanks!
