Default clutch pedal not fully returning

hi peeps.

problem as above

i go to change gear the clutch engages fine and rleases fine, but pedal dosen't return fully, its only about half inch, but really bugging me.
just wondering if anyone else has same problem, clutch was replace about 2000 miles ago.
the car is a turbo 2000 on a S plate 98.

I have found this a few times, the clutch flexi pipe can swell and not return fully to allow the pedal to fully return.

However, it is not always this, the Clutch slave cylinder can also stick causing issues.

I would try getting a Braided hose first and see how you go with that.

I am in Barnstaple if u need any help with it.

cool thanks. new to scoobys, been a vauxhall owner till 4 weeks ago.
im only in south molton so not to far.

There should be a return spring fitted to the clutch fork & if this is missing it would cause the problem you are experiencing.

If you lean over the passenger side front wing and look below the intercooler you will see the clutch slave cyl bolted to the gearbox with the top of the clutch fork poking through a large rubber grommet just in front of it.

At the top of this arm you should find that there is a square rubber damper bolted to it. There should be a spring fitted between the damper and a small bracket located at the point that the gearbox meets the engine.
