Did you gap them to 0.7mm or 0.65mm? Ideally the "7s" at 0.65mm would be good to run with your spec...

Ah, they rpob might not be gapped small enough then. The very biggest gap is 0.8mm, but as said, ideally with that boost level, 0.7mm or 0.65mm will be appropriate. What happens is the upped boost (greater force of air) can sometimes blow the spark out... hence your occasional 'misfires'. I'd defo whip 'em out and try regapping to the aforementioned measurement....

But whilst you'd be removing them, then I'd replace with the 7s instead, as well ...

Go for the 0.65mm - that way you're not leving anything to chance i.e. if it still does it, then you can continue looking elsewhere...

Mine are at 0.65mm and I'm only running 282bhp at 1.3bar, but tailing to 1.1 at the top end. No issues - runs fabulous lol.

Do yo mean that upright cylinder on the driver side near the rad? I think that's just a charcoal cannister, where oil breathers go to(?)

Hmm.....so its still misfiring?

what ECU are you running on the car? have you got a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator?

Carbon cannister info and what it does and where pipes come from>>

Your ecu is located in the passenger footwell....take some pictures of it and put them up, if possible undo the cover screws and send some pics of the ECU board inside...

Have you got a boost controller? if not how are you controlling the boost? is it adjustable?

Well that's a STi v.2 275PS ECU (that's if the innards match the what the casing's "6K" label says ). But yes, that's the correct OEM ECU for a MY96 STi.

So if you're claiming that you're running 1.5bar, then the main chipset must be an ESL Live daughterboard with remap to suit... But to me, the ECU looks stock!

Did the previous owner say to you that it was "340bhp at 1.5bar...."?

What mods have you got? If you are running 340bhp at 1.5bar, then the least you'll have is a larger TMIC or FMIC, at least 440cc injectors, uprated MAP sensor and prob a decat d/p too.

Ah, so you have what appears to be some kind of "piggyback" Superchips ECU intercepting device? Do you know the details of this device? Presumably, it's had a generic uprated map flashed to it?!

Hopefully, someone (a specialist) will know exactly what that Superchips device is/does and will reveal all. Plus whether it's actually suitable or not!

It's prob just intercepts info for fuel, timing and boost and has been flashed with a generic map i.e. I'm not aware of any Superchips products that would allow a custom bespoke map to your car's specific mods. So, unless others know otherwise, then I'd be inclined to junk it and invest in ESL Live, PFC or Simtek and get it mapped properly. Certainly for peace of mind!

It could just be contributing to your missing issue.......

There wasn't a "WR1" STi v.2. The WR1 was a New Age post-MY03 "blobeye" special edtn.

The only special edtn. based on a STi v.2 was the "555".

Ah, the V5 sucks the big one with regard being accurate re grey imports.

DVLA are tw*ts when it comes to identifying 'em. Esp. Scoobs with their myriad variants/special edtns.!!!

Post up a pic of your car mate - it'll be obvious if it's a 555 or regular STi v.2...
