Exclamation How to locate and clean the trottle body

Hi,

Does anyone have a guide on locating and cleaning the trottle body on a MY00 Subaru Turbo?

The car intermittently JERKS when on boost.
Boost gauge shows no drop in boost.
I have tried a new MAF and also changed the HT Leads.
Cleaned the Boost solonoid
Taken of the intercooler and cleaned the pipe work

Next step would be to try and clean the trottle body.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks

The short pipe you took off to remove The Ic is connected to it. Use some carb cleaner inside it to clean it out

when you remove the small pipe connecting the intercooler to the throttle body. Look down the body you will see a brass flap. operate the throttle and this flap will move. Hold it open and clean with carb cleaner. Just spray it all over the inside edges and the flap.

When its all put back together the car may not start very well as carb cleaner doesnt burn to well.

Normally dirty throttle bodies cause idle issues, id be suprised if its the cause of your problem.

But it could be a plug gapping issue

If you have taken off the intercooler then it is the short pipe on the intercooler that connects to the throttle body.It is well worth cleaning out as it can get contaminated with oil, best use carb cleaner and a toothbrush, and a clean rag . (If still in doubt as you look straight at the engine, you will see the intercooler,at the front of the intercooler there is a 4 inch hose that connects on to the throttle body,or if you follow your throttle linkage it will take you to the body.

+1 I'd try chaning the plugs then the coil pack, if it's still doing it.
