hello i just found a hks idle stableizer in my scooby what exactly does this do

The HKS EIDS Electronic Idle Stabilizer has been developed to buffer dramatic airflow meter signal fluctuations. By buffering these fluctuations the EIDS prevents engine stalling or stumbling associated with sudden imbalances in air/fuel ratio of airflow meter-equipped vehicles that utilize atmosphere venting blow-off valves.
Basically it sounds as if its a type of resistor that "smooths" out the signal from the maf to the ecu when at idle
