Default Carl Davey fuel rails

Does anyone know why the classic impreza Carl Davey fuel rails have a bung in the centre of each rail?

Presumably to give a little more flexibility on plumbing/offer true parallel feed.

If you take the returns from the middle boss that allows you to feed both ends of the rail.

If you leave the centre bunged, feeding in from one end and returning at the other, it's not a totally parallel setup. It's two series rails connected in parallel. You can still get a very slight variance in fuel supply to the injector furthest from the feed point - although nowhere near as pronounced as on the OE full series rails and for most people so small as to not be worth bothering about.

I was let down by the suppliere of my fuelrails and need to know, what length of hoses is needed to make the parallelfuelrails work with an remote installed fuelpressureregulator.
I think it should be about 4metres, right?!
