My beloved wagon has not been started for 3 years (bloody long story) and I'd appreciate all and any advice on pre-checks and anything I can do before I kiss new life into the old girl ( 2000 wrx prodrive wagon ) as not to harm or cause damage to anything. Will remove plugs, inject some oil and hand crank it a dozen times or so but not too sure what else I should cast my eye over ?. ps year is 2000 (W)

 

what you have described is fine. build oil pressure first before it fires as a precauation.
you can do this on the pre 96 cars by disconnecting the crank sensor. not sure if its the same on the post 96 cars. might leave check engine light?

 

Oil/filter change would be a good idea, 3 year old oil will not be ideal.
Might have probs with old fuel too so drain tank and add fresh fuel.

 

Has it been left standing on the tyres? if so then expect wheel vibration. Also rebleed the brakes before taking it out.
