Timing belt kit ?
hi looking for advice, need to replace the timing belt on my sti, wheres the best place to get a kit dont want to have to goto subaru and pay a fortune ano really a should ,seen a kit on import car parts but not sure if i can trust it not to fail any body every used one ,heres a link Impreza WRX STi 2.0 02 to 06 Gates Cam Timing Belt Kit on eBay (end time 05-Apr-10 12:46:09 BST)
I did the timing belt last year sometime, and I've put a good few thousand miles on it without any issues that I'm aware of.
From what I've heard, all (standard) Subaru timing belts are made by only one or two companies in the world anyway. Graham Goode racing were doing the belt only for about £35 or £40 on ebay when I was looking at the various kits last year, and if they are selling one that cheap, you can be pretty sure it's a good quality belt.
Dealers usually put a massive mark-up on parts.
