Default re-priming a turbo

if a turbo has been sat a while is it worth re-priming it to make sure the bearings fill with oil before firing a car up? its not new just 2nd hand, not been run for a good 3 months

if so, do i just need to hold the shaft, pour some engine oil in and replace the oil banjo?

it can't do any harm to put a little oil down the feed and let it run through, spin the turbine by hand to get it in the bearings, also if changing the turbo make sure you use the appropriate top banjo bolt, ball bearing turbos have a ristrictor banjo bolt, it has a very small 1.2mm hole, appearently ball bearing turbos (like the IHI VF range ) only require a spray of oil rather than the high flow required by the bronze type bearing.
