Default Undertray Question

Got an STI Intercooler fitted to my bugeye wagon, but still using the WRX undertray at the moment.

Ive seen an STI 8/9 undertray for sale, anyone know if this will fit or will I need the STI scoop too?

Ideally you need the V7 Sti scoop and undertray. to make sure you use the whole intercooler core.

The STi undertray can be modified to fit under the WRX scoop but still feed air over the STi IC.
It need some butchery but doesn't offer any less air flow.

Thats what I was hoping. Any idea how much work it is to adapt it to fit my WRX scoop?

It took some araldite, 1mm ali sheet, ali foil and about 2 hours work to get it right on my old WRX wagon.
The 2 parts of the STi intake are held up by two side plates and a middle strengthener. Prise them off gently as they are only tack welded on.
Its just a question of copying them in the ali sheet but not as high.
Stick in place with araldite and when hardened add the foil over the joins to smooth them over:

I had no problems in 2 years with this fitted and presumably is still going strong somewhere in SN land.

It can all be taken off again and changed back to full STi spec if needed (if you save the original parts).
