Default Roll cage fitting

I have a 6 point cusco roll cage thats going in soon and also 3 extra weld in door bars and harness bars.
Was wondering if anyone knew of a fitting guide for this please?
Also half the people tell me that the support plates need to be welded inside the car and the other people say its under the car,in effect making the plates giant washers. Which is it?
And finally, how do i join the extra bars...do i cut a half moon shape in the ends so they wrap around the existing bolted in pipe?
Thankyou.

You need to weld the plates inside. I would stitch em, no need to weld all the way round.

You can buy weld in ends and brackets from OMP to add door bars etc or you can notch the tube, but when you want to remove the cage you will have to cut the door bars.

The reason you havent had a problem is down to the fact you aint rolled it yet...

A badly fitted cage could do more harm than good if the worse should happen...

exactly, it will just ripp through the floor and crush you with no plates welded in.

One thing with these comments i cant get my hear round...why does welding them in rather than comming from underneith the car make it stronger?
Surely the floor mount can be no stronger either way can it?
It could rip through the floor from undernieth making a plate sized hole.
And if its welded in from inside the car it could rip the floor out still making a plate sized hole plus a few mmm extra for the welding.
Am i missing something?

Nope dont think your missing anything there as i agree with your comments... ive seen a few group n style cages with plates just bolted in under the car... including the one I got my cage out of.

Its all to do with the size of the plate and the spread of pressure on impact.

Its why the MSA blue book has minimum sizes for these plates.
