Oil Pressure
Quick question for anyone in the know.
Should the oil pressure on a Hawkeye STI come down from it's initial start point after a certain amount of miles or warming up period ?? I've noticed that mine never budges from the 6.7bar mark whether I go 6 miles or 60 miles - it never seems to change.
Is this right, or could I possibly have a faulty oil pump ??

when driving this is right but when warm and ticking over it would normally drop to 3-4 bar!

That's a lot of oil pressure!
Above 2000rpm from cold you should see that figure but it should drop to around 5.5 - 6 bar when fully warmed due to the oil becoming thinner as it gets hot (85-90c) At idle you should see around 2-2.5 bar fully warm. The figures you see are also dependant on the grade of oil you are using ie 5/30 5/40 etc.
You haven't got electronic gauges, have you?

The reading is coming from my PSi3 monitor.
It's already been suggested to me that it could always be a faulty PSi3 monitor or even a faulty sensor, but I'm wandering if it could be contributing to my heavy use of oil - i.e oil pressure is to high and it's forcing more oil round the system then necessary.
