Default engine management light on

hi guys looking for so advice, about a year ago i fitted a full decat exhaust to my 03 wrx prodrive wagon now out of the blue it has developed a fault, had a mechanic mate put it on his scanner the fault came up as a temperature sensor he cleared the fault but not quite running right now, i've been told to get it remapped, does this seem about right and where would i get it done, i'm in ayrshire in scotland cheers

A faulty temp. sensor will output a false reading, so the ecu won't have a clue what is happening.

IMHO fit a new sensor if the fault re-occurs, and then if it isn't running right, get it to a specialist.

HTH
