Default TB (trottle body)

my car had the slanty type intercooler i upgraded to the sti tmic therefor needed to shorten both the TB and the tmic exit pipe (removed the lip from both to make it fit) it was a squeeze but i got it in there.

i now want to got fmic so will be needing a new TB (i will be selling mine with the modded Tmic as a kit)

what i need to know is how many types there are my car is a 95
and will a gas flowed one give me any significant gains (300bhp mark)
or is that just a waste of money?

cheers

Hey Matt,

I would assume it would enable smoother airflow. I would doubt it would give big gains.

No graph for now as i had it mapped on the road. Ive broken 1 gearbox all ready. Dont really want to risk the new one by putting it on the rollers. The pull is just scary...no looking left or right have to be fully focused looool. Traction is another issue.

I would assume so. I was going to go for a PPG but ive decided to sell instead due to other reasons.

i have the same problem matt, did you have to cut much off to get it to fit? i have an aps top mount from a later model, was going to fit a phase 1.5 manifold as im not sure cutting it down will give enough room

Would it not be possible to use a longer silicon joiner to make up for the missing section of T.B.???
95/96 cars have the same TB and 93/94 cars may be the same too.

i think the phase 1.5 manifold sits the tb further back which would allow me to get the ic in as at the mo cutting it down wouldnt i dont think. dont really want to bash the bulkhead in!

I had the same problem when i went for a FMIC , the FMIC will still fit , but the problem is i found the hose won't stay on, as there's no lip on the TB for the hose to stay on , you can get a whole manilfold and TB of ebay for £20, thats what i done

Hairspray helps the silicon hose to grip on smooth surfaces.
