Default Subaru STI uppipe question

Im in the process of setting my 2001 wrx up for a remap.

I am about to purchase an aftermarket decat up pipe for the turbo but have been told that an STI uppipe is straight through as standard??

Is this true and if so will the STI uppipe fit my WRX?

Cheers

yes the sti up-pipe will fit although it wont have a hole for the EGT sensor this isn't a problem as the mapper will sort that out.

Speak to harvey - he'll be able to supply, or advise on, the most appropriate uppipe (with either OEM heatshield or wrapped) suitable for your engine spec/supp mods....

Yes, it will. I fitted a STi up-pipe to mine before remapping.

depends i found my up-pipe ok to fit, just need to make sure you don't break or round off any bolts.

sti one will fit straight on.

Will throw up a CEL but that can easily be switched off as said in the map.

Cheers for the help guys.

I have found several STI up pipes for sale for around £50-60. The problem is that i have found aftermarket stainless up pipes for the same price brand new.

Would it be advisable to stick with the aftermarket option which will include gaskets and bolts.

no dont fit a aftermarket up-pipe unless its either a 42mm bore or one of Harvey`s purpose made up-pipes, the large bore bling bling after market ones you see on ebay for are cheap are crap.
