Default Non genuine newage MAF any good?

As title really. I'm after a MAF for my 02 Bugeye STI. Best price i've found for a genuine Denso 22680-AA310 is £140 but there are non genuine ones on Ebay that also have a 12month warranty for £59.

Anyone out there actually tried any non genuine ones?

I've had a couple of blueprint newage MAF's that have worked fine, and one that didn't work at all.

Cool. Cheers for the info. Was thinking the cheap ones can't be that bad if they are willing to offer a years warranty so thought i might give one ago but have bought a denso one from billyray911 which arrived today so i should get to fit it tomorrow and fingers crossed it will fix the problem.

i assume i can just swap it over and i don't need to do anything to reset the ecu???

That's not really saying much. There isn't much value in a warranty on an airflow sensor unless you can be reasonably confident that the seller's going to be around in 12 months' time. Possibly also worth pointing out that the warranty is unlikely to cover any engine damage that might result from a sensor failing or misreading.

In an ideal world you'd reset the ECU but you need a Select Monitor to do that on a newage car. It should re-learn pretty quick anyway although it might be worth disconnecting the battery for an hour or two.

Well I fitted the new MAF and it still suffered a loss of power after warming up properly and after a few full throttle blasts. So I disconnected the battery for a couple of hours. I figured it was worth a try because disconnecting the battery cleared an engine light I caused the other day buy unplugging the MAF with the engine running. I have since used an ECU reader and there are no faults still logged.

So far I think it has been OK though I need to give it a decent run to check. If I still have problems then be ready for a new thread asking for any ideas ;-)

Thanks for the help and big thanks to Harvey (Billyray911) for getting he new MAF to me so quick.
