Default complete engine weight?

This might seem like a stupid question to those in the know, would a 1 ton engine crane be sufficient to lift the complete engine out? I am about to do this so am going to buy a crane today but there is quite a price difference between a 1 and 2 ton crane. Any input appreciated

A 1 Ton crane is fine, i have had the engine & box out together on a 1 ton crane, just be carefull how much you extend out the boom, if its an adjustable type.
