As the title suggests I'm a newby and low on tech knowledge (please remember when you 1st started).

I have a whining noise coming from the belt at the front of my engine.

What is this belt and how do I sort the whining out?

I have a 2000, Mk1 Impreza.

sounds like the power steering belt is it low on fluid? if not try a new belt they are only a few quid hope this helps

 

yeah like the above if there ok try giving the belt a bit more tension
