What would happen if i plugged in a different MAF?
What would happen if i plugged in the orange label MAF into my Z4 ecu? I think the scaling would be wrong? but in what way? would I be overfueling? or could it cause lean running? This is just a temp measure i i need to swap some bits over before mapping.

The MAF sensor is used as a point of primary reference by the ECU for load sensing. In much the same way as changing injectors, your mapper has to be on hand when you fit the MAF. Please don't fit one, then attempt to run it about in the meantime, or I'll be jolly cross.
You could prepare to fit it, but leave it off until the appointed time.

you will have all sorts of running problems and eventually a knackered engine, find/borrow a good used one its the only way.
