Default Airbag light on!! How do I diagnose?

Hi guys, Was driving my car today & out of nowhere the airbag light came on!
I'm not a fan of my local dealer as when I rang them today they just did'nt seem interested.
Can I diagnose this myself?
Its a 53 plate Impreza WRX

Cheers guys!!

You may find that its almost impossible for you to diagnose the fault on the airbag system yourself as its definately a specillised system, you could take the car to a subaru speciallist, though I dont know any in your area as I dont live there
Mocom are in essex though

Could I not connect the diagnostic connectors under the dash together in order to find out a faul code?

I don't think there is a fault code for a malfunctioning airbag. All the codes are related to things that could damage the "driving experience". If there was a fault code for the airbag, the "check engine" light would come on.

Might be wrong

There is a black four pin block connector by the steering column with blue tape round it, also there are two black wires with open spade pins wrapped with insulated black tape, these are your airbag / abs diagnostic connectors. Turn ignition on, then place one spade pin to terminal one for blink test, then the other spade pin to termainal 2 for reset.

I reckon a malfunctioning airbag would seriously damage someone's "driving experience"

Hi, does your seats have airbags on ?
On a lot of cars the plugs can get caught under the seats which can bring the airbag light on.
