Question

When I first got MY00 UK car I was running super-unleaded 97/98RON. But then a few empty tanks later when i could find no super-unleaded i put in standard 95RON, which seems okay. Then regularly kept using it.

Have since switched back to super 97/98RON as it feels smoother. Do I need an ECU reset or will it auto-adjust to new fuel?

Also, is Shell Optimax much better than super?

car was first reg'd in Jan2000 (but manufactured 1999?).

All help appreciated.

Should take around 30-40miles to adjust Bob, you dont need to do an ecu reset but you can if you want

Bob,
regarding optimax, yup its cheaper and better as its a higher ron rating (98.6 compared to 97) so better for the car

I have been using Optimax for a few months now and I'm pleased
with the smoothness etc. Seems the best, although not the cheapest down here...

Just started using optimax and have noted better throttle response,
better acceleration and improved fuel consumption. Bit difficult to find in Kent
