Default Headers and up pipe

Hi people

Have a classic my99 facelift and wanting to upgrade the headres and up pipe.

I see you can buy equal length headers. What advantage do you get from this?

Also with the equal lenght headers will I loose the classic scooby sound?

Any advise on what type and where to purchase would also be appreciated! (for infomation I'm running full decat 3" bore from turbo back and ECUTEC remap)

Thanks in advance!!

You will lose the sound with equals yes.

Equal ones are normally used for high power apps where each 'plug' of exhaust gas lines up behind each other for easy extraction (hence the more 'normal' sound - still sounds like a sportsbike-like wail at high rpm though ).

More often than not, harvey's OEM ported headers/matched uppipe will suffice (plus you get to keep the rumble ).

What is your full mod list... that way we can point you in the right direction...

Theres a lot of info about this. IMO I'd stick with un-equals rather than loose the Boxer rumble
