Hello, im new to imprezas and have a low mileage standard 05 wrx. Is it normal to hear the turbo spool up?, there is no whistling or smoking from exhaust. i've always had T5 volvos and never really heard the turbo. also are the standard brakes poor?. thanks.

without mods i couldn't hear the turbo on my '07, but i could hear the turbo spooling with a catless exhaust change, and after removing the intake resonator i can hear the recirc valve too. my brakes are standard and seem ok and are nice and progressive. although i do think they could be better, a decent pad should make an improvement.

ive got a WRX 03 i can hear my turbo spool up and the standard brakes are crap....you dont want smoke from your turbo
