Advice on decats and remaps for a 2004 WRX
I'd like to extract a little more power from my 2004 WRX (currently fitted with the PPP bits and pieces). I'm going to try and pick up the parts I need second hand to keep the costs down, but I'm struggling to work out exactly what I need. If I could get to somewhere around 290bhp I'd be happy (for now).
Couple of questions for those in the know out there:
- Which cat does the PPP remove? Is it just the centre one? Do I need to buy both up pipe and down pipe de-cats?
- Could the car pass an MOT with the centre cat only (I'm guessing not!)?
- Should I also look for pink injectors and an uprated fuel pump?
- Would I need a remap to keep things safe or just to extract the best out of the changes?
- Any point in changing the panel filter for something aftermarket?
- Anything else to consider?
Any help would be great - thanks!

the ppp has a high flow sport cat downpipe, and no centre cat.
changing the air filter and a remap should get you from 260 it should be now to the 290 you want on the td04 turbo your car should have. to get more, you wil need to change intercooler, turbo , injectors and fuel pump. the exhaust set up is not a problem as it is
my 2003 sti now has a ppp downpipe and made 330 on the sti's vf35/injector combo and with fuel pump upgrade, mapped by Richard Bulmer.
and any of the changes you mention will need a remap to be safe and get any improvements
