Yup, agree with this, it is law to wear your seatbelt, if you want to see some nice pictures of people who didnt (the ones that lived that is) then just google it, it will make you wear one in the future after seeing the mess its made of their lives.....

Perhaps the OP only decides not to wear it when reversing (allowed by law), and thus can't stand the beeping in that specific scenario...?
Or perhaps he turns the ign on before putting belt on and can't satnd the noise in those few seconds...?
You're all being moral arbitors and assuming he doesn't wear a belt when driving!

It kicks in at 15mph, that means your driving and really I doubt many people reverse back at over 15mph anyway
Then think about it a little, for say 10 secs of parking, not a problem, for 30 mins of driving, very annoying, so you dont think he is driving without wearing a seatbelt?

jesus christ! i have a huge carpark which is mainly empty all day and i have to drive from oneside where my warehouse is to the otherside where my shop is.i wear my seatbelt religiously when driving on the road because i value my license just as much as my life.i just dont want to put my seatbelt on every time i want to drive 200 yards in a PRIVATE car park.
anyone who can help me get rid of the tone or confirm if the relay is by the steering column please do.
if you cant help me with this information,**** OFF!i dont need a lecture about seatbelts and safety.

I read somewhere that there is a way
One of the "features" on the 2006 Imprezas is that if you don't buckle your seatbelt within 30 seconds, it turns on an incessant beep. Now, I never drive without my seatbelt on. I feel naked without it. But there are the occasional times where I'll be in my garage or parked somewhere working in/on the car and that beep is very annoying. The owner's manual does explain how to temporarily disable it, but it reverts back to normal the next time you start the car. Here's how to disable it more permanently:
1. Turn the ignition to ON. The engine should be off.
2. Within 30 seconds, insert the buckle in and out 20 times. You can hold the release button down if you like. Just make sure to remove the buckle all the way so that it "registers" in and out.
3. The next time you start the engine, you'll get the initial seatbelt chime, but it won't give you the continual warnings afterwards. You should notice right away that after the initial seatbelt chime, the seatbelt light will turn off and no longer flash.
I had to try it a couple of times until I got it right, but it works. To reset it back to normal, just disconnect the negative connector on the battery for 30 seconds and reattach.
