Are you trying to read error codes?

westmore, to pre-empt JGM's next post you can read fault codes with the OEM on board system:-

Read from heading: Manually Reading ECU Codes (Classic Impreza’s only) in the below link...

Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Knowledge / Reading ECU Fault Codes

Specific fault codes:-

http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...odeDefinitions

(Apologies in advance if you know this already and/or it's not what/why you're asking...)

unlikely as it will be reading a voltage between 0 and 5volts in operation which is therefore within range.. it usually takes a 0 continuous voltage or the maf unplugged to log a maf fault..
