Ye sounds like the rear....when turning right its more noticable, its pretty loud. sometimes when im driving straight I can hear a like du dump du dump. Like driving on a flat tyre lol. Im hoping its the bearings! tommorow il jack it up and give it a wriggle to see what happens. Any suggestions? if it is the bearing can I try gently tightening the centre nut until the wheel has no play?.

cheers

wheel bearing failure is common on these cars although i mis read my bearing coz when i changed it it was still making a noise(normally a drone/whine)but it turned out to be a tyre problem.check the bushes while you are under there too.

Second hand rear diffs aren't that expensive (for what they are)... and aren't too difficult to fit either. Just need to make sure its FD ratio is the correct one for your existing 'box.

So don't be necessarily put off lol....

Jacked the car up earlier, there was slight movement in the nearside rear wheel. Jacked up the other side to check and that wheel was solid....So im guessing it could be rear wheel bearing. Also today the noise wasent that loud at all really and wasent a knocking noise as such. It doesnt make a sound if im driving real slow.
