Having had my Simtek fitted & mapped in NI in November the idle was perfect, once it arrived in Oz in the peak of summer the idle was all over the place! I managed to get it good for someone with no experience using (tuning software)and help via PM from Steve Simpson but the cold start is now a bit funky! lol
Runs amazing once warm though!

Thats exactly my point Pete, you need to have experience of tuning in winter, checking in summer and then tuning in the summer followed by checking in winter before you can really come on here and claim to be the 'expert' at setting up the idle.
Add that to the fact that there are 3 distinctly different idle control valves throughout the years and it should be apparent that yes indeed it does take a bit of time, time to build experience, not simply the time to get any one car idling on a particular day !
Closed loop idle however will help the inexperienced Simtek tuners home in on an 'all seasons' tune.
