It does have the port but you'll need the Subaru protocol to read any thing I believe, can I ask why?

It won't work sorry as the OBDII protocols were not standardised until after the newages came out, I have a VI monitor and it worked on my old hawkeye WRX but will not work on my bugeye STi S202.

I emailed Armor Automotive who make the VI monitor and they stated that Subaru did not adopt the standard until around 2002 and even then some JDM models won't work (as in mine).

I get ya, we have a Similar thing at work, I think it's called c reader, or something it's a data logger that records for 24 hrs, but you have to plug it in to a pc to retrieve data, really handy for some jobs, not tried it on mine yet, haven't needed too! Fingers crossed.
I'll try, let you know if it works, just in case your interested, it wasn't expensive either.
