Exclamation Mk.4 VW GOLF R32 ALLOYS ON A CLASSIC ???

VW GOLF 18" R32 STYLE ALLOY WHEELS 5x100 ET 35 8J X 18 on eBay (end time 19-Feb-10 10:32:35 GMT)

Anyone fitted these to a Classic?

They have the correct 100x5 PCD.. but is the ET 35 offset okay? Also is the wheel's Centre Bore large enough to fit the hub collar. If it's too big are there any of those plastic spigot rings that take up the gap, etc...

What are the widest/lowest profile 18" tyre combo that can run on 8" wide alloys on the Classic?

those wheels are replica's and not original.

imo - i think they would scrub the outside arches like silly. the offset is quite low for a classic subaru and they are 8j wide too so so that wont help.

Sure - although doesn't bother me that they're reps.

But yeah, I agree - with that offest and 8" width combo, reckon I'm asking for trouble. I think I'd need an offset of at least ET42 but prob more like around ET47/48!...

Looks like I won't consider these then.

Cheers.

you need atleast a 57.1mm centre bore on your impreza if you want them to fit, but as you say the pcd is correct...are you lowered? 35mm offsets low, it doesnt mean they wont fit. just how far they stick in/out from the hub. you could probably pull it off depending on ride height.

My rims are ET44, and they scrape on a New-Age...

Yeah, I had forgotten the figure for the time being - thanks for reminding me.

Yes, I know that lol

Car is lowered, but don't know by how much. Prob no more than 38mm (1.5")?...

just making sure a lot of people thing other then perfect offset rims dont fit but its bollox. i was -40mm on my inovits which are like et45 or et42 18' and it scraped. so thats like 10mm ish off perfect. iv since had a visit from archenemy to roll my rears and well, now its slammed and should rub but i duno because it doesnt drive...yet!

going on that id say your gonna need arch work for them to fit. IMO

Sure. Normally, as you say, just the rolling of the inner lip sorts it.

But I'm not all that bothered really - they just looked decent wheels for the price (I like me rally-esque multi's lol) and I like 18" on a Classic.

The intention was to get them sprayed in the Blob/Hawk STi's light gold or the Prodrive light gold (as you may have worked out from my other thread...)

i would of thought being 8J wheels thats enough to say not to consider them ?

i have ET of 48 from my speedlines and they only just clear 4 pots and are very very close to the arches which is lowered 40mm,so id say they would fit but driving the car with them on is another matter/problem !!

Yeah, that's why I initially asked if anyone had them already on their Classic - to act as a guinea pig for me, so to speak. lol
