Default REMAP ? help

Hi i wondered if any one can help me as i am having a remap issue myself, my 96 wrx sti has loads of mods like a straight throw exhaust upgraded fuel pump bigger injectors bigger turbo etc etc, but i was running it with the standard ecu with a plug n play chip i bought of ebay. it was only when i upgraded my fuel rails and fuel lines to dash 6 i melted my pistons.

after fixing the piston and rings etc £2000 with extreme scoobys i allso asked them to remap or do something and they said they may be able remap the current chip i am using, is this possible if so how because they wont be able to do live mapping not unless using a mutifit ecu and then rewriting the chip IS THIS POSSIBLE ?

Also when i changed my fuel lines i put them parrell fueling so the fuel feeds the front of the engine and returns through the back of the injectors, can any offer some advice??

first of all what chip was it, and who was going to remap it to the mods?, your car should be running 380cc injectors as standard, how did you manage to melt your piston after fitting the fuel rails, did you mess the fuel pressure up?

Well first things first, ebay chips are a big no no. and you can never gaurantee the bhp. It down to mods what been done etc.

A generic chip can't give you a set figure.

The best thing you should do is speak to scott t ie polar performance.

There are other mappers oh will also give you advice.
You have to be so careful with these chips.
What I have learnt is never to go cheap on these scoobs.
I saved up for bits. Not easy as you want it now. But worth it in the end.

I don't think you can map them, only flash them, and put another map on it.

I think you can get a daughter board for you ECU

the chip can have another map blown onto it.. or a different chip installed with a different map on it but it is a long winded and drawn out process to do a proper custom map.. the best option would be an ESL daughter board which goes into the same slot the chip is in but allows it to be custom live mapped.

Or a replacement ecu like the Apexi or SimTek can be used.
