Question WRX or STi RA engine/trans setup? (a bit technical!)

I'm looking to buy an engine and a transmission here in the US, out of the vehicle. All I have to base my decision on are a few pictures and quite a few numbers to decode.

By the numbers, this car looks like a standard WRX RA, but it has a few odd bits that hint at an STi.

Listed as being from a White 1994 WRX with 159,000km.
VIN: GC8-029802
Applied Model: GC8C47D
Option code: *blank*
Trim: 520
Color: 559
Engine Type: EJ20GDW4HJ
Transmission Type: TY752VB3EA

It's listed as possibly having a front LSD.

The ECU is a "U8", second line is "22611 AA810", third line is "A18-000 RJ2"

Upon checking this site, I see that the engine and transmission code as being from a 9/94-8/95 WRX or STi RA. Being that it doesn't list the 61C option code, I would say that it's a standard WRX RA, not the STi.

What I find a bit curious is the red intake manifold. The intercooler is black though, and there is no "Handcrafted/Tuned by STi" badge on the belt cover. Everything looks stock except for some fiberglass headerwrap on the stock downpipe, and a Warlboro fuel pump.

A friend of mine said it looks like it has a mechanical rear LSD (there is a picture of the diff with the cover removed). Can you tell this by a quick visual inspection? Does this trans come with an LSD up front as well?

So to clarify, this is a WRX RA with the standard WRX engine? Does it have LSD's front and rear? If so, what type (viscous, mechanical)? Is the gearing on the WRX RA as strong as the venerable STi RA trans? It does have the same gearing as the STi RA, and different gearing than the standard WRX.

I'm looking to buy this mainly for the trans and rear diff setup, hoping for stronger gearing and LSD's all around.

The SPDA - Transmission Chart

You could email David at Welcome to the API website or pm him on here, APIDavid
As he does now a thing or two about engines

I would say it's a WRX, as for strength i would expect the WRX isn't as strong as the STI stuff.
